A bath robe, commonly made with cotton, is the garment worn by people inside the privacy of their homes. Usually, they use it before taking a shower to cover their nude body and after taking a shower to dry off the water. It later became a fashion trend, however, that resulted to the popularity of robes made of silk. Since silk is not a good material to absorb water, the primary use of silk robes is to cover the body. Silk robes act like a secondary garment to cover the sleeping clothes of a person.
Later on, robes made of microfibers were made available in the market. The use of microfibers as a robe material tends to speed up the absorption of water as well as provide the feel of smoothness to the skin similar to the effect of the silk material.
